By virtue of its monumental weight, Alasdair's greatsword cannot be wielded with any additional dexterity - any would-be bonus to attack speed amplifies its damage instead - but also renders its user immune to stunlock while being swung. Furthermore, tapping the attack button again at an opportune moment (when his silhouette returns back to body) following a normal attack triggers Overpower, a strike that deals increased damage and grants Alasdair unflinching for its duration.
